A three-year full-time course The CourseThe Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree is an integrated and systematic program of biblical and theological study, giving students a foundational knowledge of the major disciplines of Christian theology including biblical languages. Once those foundations have been laid, it provides advanced level studies in biblical exegesis and major theological doctrines. Students may choose to specialise in biblical studies, pastoral ministry, and pastoral counselling or cross-cultural missions. This degree prepares people bible teaching and leadership in a pastoral or cross-cultural ministry context. Most denominations recognise this degree as fulfilling the academic requirements for ordination, but may require additional training to meet their denominational requirements. Mission organizations generally recognise this course as adequate training in biblical studies for missionary service, particularly those involving a bible teaching ministry Students who have graduated with a BTh and have demonstrated a high level of academic potential may do a fourth Honours year of study, which is comprised of coursework and a thesis. Entrance RequirementsEach student must be qualified for admission to a degree course in an Australian or New Zealand University with a minimum OP score of 12. Students who do not have matriculation and who have attained the age of 21 years and are approved by the Bible College of Queensland may be provisionally accepted as mature age students. Except for those students who have a tertiary qualification taught in English, international students whose first language is not English, must achieve an average score of 6.5, with no score under 6.00 in an IELTS test. Overseas students on a student visa must study full-time. Course RequirementsThe full time course is composed of compulsory and elective units normally taken together over six semesters (three years). A total of 96 credit points are required to complete the degree. Full time students normally study four units each semester. Students may study the degree part time but must complete it within eight years. Early Exit PointsStudents who have completed the first year of the program (8 units) may exit with the Diploma of Theology. Students who have completed two years (16 units) of the program may exit with the Associate Degree in Theology. SUMMARY OF UNITS
