The CourseThe Diploma of Theology course aims to provide a foundation of biblical knowledge and ministry skills in order to prepare men and women for informed participation in the life of the church. It provides an excellent foundation for lay Christian ministry. The elective units offered reflect an emphasis on preparing people for lay ministry in the church and cross-cultural mission. Those preparing for cross-cultural ministry may, with permission, choose as electives, missions units offered at degree level if they are not available at diploma level. Chinese Program
This Diploma is also available in the Chinese language. At least two distinct units are offered in Chinese each semester. All units are internally assessed. A section of the college library contains books in Chinese to support the program. Students with sufficient ability in English may study full-time by selecting some units in the English program while doing their assessment in Chinese. Entrance RequirementsStudents are normally admitted upon satisfactory completion of Year 12 in an Australian school system or equivalent, but consideration will be given to other factors such as practical experience, maturity and motivation in the likelihood of future success. Provisional mature age entry is available for students over the age of 20. Course RequirementsThe course requires that 48 credit points (12 units) be earned for the award of the diploma. This is equivalent to one and a half years (3 semesters) full-time study. Students may study part-time. There is no maximum time for candidature. SUMMARY OF UNITS (48 cps)Compulsory Units (40 cps)

ArticulationStudents completing the Diploma of Theology can continue with an extra semester of study to complete an Advanced Diploma of Theology and academic credit may be obtained towards the Bachelor of Theology or Bachelor of Ministries.
