The Course
Foundations is a one year program for school leavers who are passionate about Jesus Christ. It is for those who yearn to embark on a spiritual journey that will lead them closer to God. It is for young people who want a solid Christian foundation for university, work and witness. Foundations is an investment of one year that will make a difference for life.

Can you tell me more about the details?
The Foundations program consists of eight modules or subjects studied over two semesters (one year). Since the program sits within the Australian College of Theology's (ACTh) Diploma of Theology, Austudy and FeeHelp may be available depending on your circumstances.
In addition to the modules of study, Foundations students also join chapel, fellowship groups, mission excursions and the college's mentoring program. Individual modules cover the following five general areas:
Biblical studies students learn how to understand and read the Bible for themselves. Know the Bible!
Theology students learn about the beliefs of the Christian faith and how the gospel is relevant for the world today. Know what you believe!
Church history students learn how the church has faced various challenges through its long and diverse history. Know where you are coming from and where you are going!
Mission and ministry students learn about the biblical basis of mission and the various ways of witnessing for the Lord. Know how to serve the Lord!
Spirituality and Christian growth students learn how to grow spiritually within the community of fellow believers. Know how to live the Christian life!
What are the pre-requisites to enrol?
Basically you need three things:
Completion of year 12
A supporting reference from your pastor
And a heart that loves the Lord Jesus
What award will I get?
Upon the completion of your studies you will be able to graduate at the graduation service with the:
Christian Studies Award In Foundations
All the modules of Foundations are accredited through the Australian College of Theology (ACT) and are well recognised for further studies, should you wish to continue theological studies in the future.
