Founded in 1943, Crossway College has an established, recognised and respected track record for training Christians for ministry and mission. It has had a significant impact in Queensland and beyond.
The Toowong Campus is situated on 2 hectares of land in the foothills of Mt Coot-tha only 10 minutes from the CBD. Anzac Memorial Park adjoins the college and nearby are the new Botanical Gardens, public transport, shops, churches, libraries, schools, recreational facilities and ministry opportunities. It has an ideal study environment. The Rothwell Campus is located on the Redcliffe Peninsula within easy reach of the Sunshine Coast. Many recreational activities, including fishing, swimming, cycling and walking tracks, are in close proximity.
Convinced that the Bible is inspired by God and that it teaches the truths central to evangelical Christianity, the college unashamedly promotes them in its academic programs. All faculty and staff adhere whole-heartedly to the authority of the Bible.
Students, faculty, and members of the Board of Directors of the college represent a wide range of Christian denominations and churches. Essentials are affirmed; non-essentials are challenged; exposure to alternative points of view promotes balance.
Our ACT awards are fully accredited by the Office of Higher Education Queensland and are recognised in Australia and overseas.
A significant proportion of the faculty have earned doctorates; all have qualifications in excess of the awards for which they teach. Faculty regularly publish with prestigious publishers and academic journals.
Academic excellence is not enough. The college is concerned for the spiritual development of its students through mentoring, private devotions, pastoral care, fellowship groups, prayer sessions, chapel services and an active involvement in a local church.
Students gain practical ministry experience through Field Education involving supervised ministry skill development, an annual one-week mission in Australia or overseas, and through courses which include strong practical components, such as Preaching, Communication, Worship, Evangelism and Missions.
While the college prepares students for a range of ministries, it is committed to providing a program which mission agencies endorse as appropriate for cross-cultural missionary work. A Ministry Awareness Program broadens student horizons by exposing them to Christian organisations serving in Australia and overseas.
Graduates of the college serve with many mission agencies, churches and para-church organisations.
Units are available for couples and married students with children at the Toowong Campus. Accommodation in single rooms is available for other students. Living on campus offers enrichment through Christian community, the motivation of a study environment, and the opportunity to make lifelong friends.
Fees are set by the Australian College of Theology. Austudy is available to eligible full-time students for the majority of courses. Fee Help is also available to Australian citizens.
